State troopers get top honors for U.S. Open fashion10:43 PM EDT, June 16, 2009
It’s a sea of polo shirts and khakis at the U.S. Open, but some looks are crisper than others.
Top honors for snappy dressing go to the state troopers, many of whom turned out in khaki State Police baseball caps and robin’s egg blue polo shirts, with their own khakis and, natch, holsters and badges. We caught up with one unit, who for the most part loved the look, calling it “comfortable, good looking,” and a nice change from their regular clothes.
And there was the officer who liked it so much that he took a little ribbing for being fashionable.
One trooper said he’d never wear the shirt again, but most thought it was a welcome addition to their wardrobes.
