I have been to several cocktail parties in my college days. I remember that I only wear a suit and polishing leather shoe. Actually, for men, the style of dress is not very diverse. Men only care much about the party food and drink and more importantly, their female partners in the cocktail parties. But girls are more worried about their evening cocktail dress, they want to looks perfect. They want catch every male attendant’s attention. They want their female friends to feel jealous about their nicely body and cocktail dress.

Every piece of dress has their own special style. In traditional ways, we describe dress into two catagories, that are formal dress and casual dress. At present, there are many other ways to describe dresses. Today, I want to talk something about the style of cocktail dress. We know the fact that cocktail dress is custom-made for cocktail party. But things are changing now. Young girls who want to follow the fashion are wearing trendy cocktail dress to work. Actually, cocktail dress can show their nice body and make them looks more sexy.

The black A-line, strapless gown adorned with a simple bow at the hip is still a classic two decades later. But the downtown resident hasn’t worn the same style in several years. Hence, a old style can become popular again. From my point of view, there is not a precise standard about the style of cocktail dress. I think any informal dresses can be worn at a cocktail party. Some professional woman want to their daily formal evening dress to a cocktail party. Hence, if you are going to attend a cocktail party, you can choose any dress you like, you do not have to go a department store and looking a dress with name tag of cocktail dress only. You can wear any kinds of dress you like. For example, some casual formal dress are a good choice. Some girls prefer to look like they are professional woman, so they can choose dress that looks like a formal dress.

Hence, the style of cocktail dress depends on its owner’s intention. Personally speaking, I have no idea about the style of cocktail dress. I believe that any dress make you looks beautiful can be called cocktail dress.
